With selective disclosure (SD-JWT VC) the wallet shares only what the question needs. Ask whether someone is over 18, and you get yes or no.
Keeping less is protecting better
What you do not keep cannot leak. DIMS is designed around that one idea.
Proof instead of a copy
DIMS records what was checked, on what basis, with what outcome and with whose consent. No folder of passport scans.
On top of government identity
Identity comes from the official EU and Dutch wallet under eIDAS 2.0. DIMS is not a wallet of its own and issues no identity of its own.
No personal data on the ledger
The ledger (Hyperledger Fabric) holds only fingerprints of the proof. The content lives outside it and can be erased, as the GDPR requires.
Consent on record
For every consent DIMS records which kind of data was requested, never the values themselves.
Sealed file
The result is encrypted for the bank and the customer. The DIMS server cannot read it.
Record Fixed in time and verifiable
The ledger holds only a fingerprint of the proof, never the data itself.
